I have reached my final blog. It is in my pleasure that I get to announce the following for the 2017/2018 Hudson Honors!
Hardest Part: The hardest part of this year was definitely the short stories. I think from writing short poems that are only a page long and compressing it into a unique splurge of words to writing stories and trying to keep it a certain length and meet the requirements, was definitely difficult for me. I loved poems and wanted to keep writing them, so trying to transition to stories wasn't very fun to me.
Thing I Learned or Improved Upon the Most: I think the thing i learned/improved the most on, other than grammar, is my creative thoughts. I think I learned that I have a lot of emotional memories that I could change into outstanding poems. I also learned that a thesaurus is literally amazing for trying to change up a few weak words too. SHOW DON'T TELL.
Favorite Memory: My favorite memory from this class is definitely the weird interruptions from the boys and laughter all around. It makes taking 2 English classes worth it. I don't really laugh too much in my other classes other than Spanish, and being able to laugh a while for the first 2 hours of my day, really helped me to appreciate my senior year more.
Best Thing About Hudson as a Teacher: (I know this was on the last blog but this describes you as a whole (: ) How enthusiastic and positive she can be even during hard or emotional times. Never fails to try and pump up the class on a boring quiet Monday. How much she cares for each student individually and pushes each of us to do our best and turn in our work. Also when she hints us in tests because, lord knows second guessing ourselves is toxic.
Thing Hudson Could Improve for Future Classes: I think Hudson can improve on cracking the whip a bit more with these boys. Especially in peer editing. Some of the boys could care less about it, and the ones that actually care and want constructive criticism cant get it. I know that helping out our peers on their work would help their grade a lot, but we also need someone to grade ours and when our workload is heavy in other classes, its hard for the ones that care to peer edit the other ones that care.
Any Final Comments for Hudson : I am so glad that you've been my English teacher for 3 years. You have helped me, taught me, encouraged me, pushed me, and never gave up, for all 3 years. You have definitely made a mark in my heart, and will be a teacher I talk about in the future as a positive influence on me. Thank you, a million times, for being such a wonderful teacher to me.
